Use Claude on the web or desktop.

1. In Claude, open Customize > Connectors.
2. Choose Add custom connector.
3. Enter Remote vs Office as the name and paste the server address.
4. Choose No sign-in if authentication options appear. Leave OAuth credentials blank.
5. Select Add, then Connect if prompted.
6. Start a new chat. Open + > Connectors and make sure Remote vs Office is on.

Custom connectors are available on every Claude plan. Free accounts can have one. On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner must add the connector for the organization first. Claude’s setup instructions.

Tools start with Needs approval, so Claude asks before using them. Choose Always allow for a tool to skip that prompt.

Use ChatGPT on the web with a Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Education account. Your workspace may need to allow developer mode.

1. Open Settings > Security and login and turn on Developer mode.
2. Open Plugins and select the + button.
3. Enter Remote vs Office as the name and Find US jobs, check salary ranges and compare offers as the description.
4. Paste the server address and choose No Authentication.
5. Select Create.
6. Start a new conversation and select Remote vs Office from the Developer mode tools.

These instructions follow OpenAI’s developer-mode guide. This setup has not yet been tested with Remote vs Office.

• Compare offers (compare_offers): Compare two offers using 2026 federal and state income tax brackets, Social Security and Medicare taxes, commute cost and time, benefits and paid leave. Returns each offer’s Real salary, the salary each would need to match the other, and any details you left out.

Postings come from employers’ public job boards, collected daily. Coverage includes US metro areas and remote jobs.

Search covers design, engineering, product, data, and people roles, including HR and recruiting. Levels run from intern to VP.

Salary ranges cover a smaller set of metro areas, locations grouped by pay tier, and remote jobs.

The data covers only the listed employers, not the whole job market. Salary ranges are posted base pay, not actual pay. They exclude bonuses and equity.

For each salary figure, the connector finds the median within each employer first, then the median across employers. An employer with more postings does not get more weight.

Real salary values an offer after taxes and commute, including benefits and paid leave. It is a valuation, not a paycheck.

The calculator covers US offers. If you leave details out, it assumes a single tax filer and counts unstated commute costs and benefits as zero. The answer names the defaults it used.

The connector processes your inputs to produce an answer and does not save them. Your AI app handles the conversation under its own privacy policy.
